More using the small pieces

Here are some very daggy beach shorts made from leftover cotton from the shirt-with-deers-on-it-that-I-am-calling-my-christmas-shirt-even-though-they-are-clearly-not-reindeer shirt.

There is no lower limit on the ugliness of beach shorts, luckily. I should probably have put pockets in them, but hey, I'm not exactly going nightclubbing in them.

And they don't go with that t-shirt either. Beach FASHION as practiced in the smaller towns of country NSW.

  1. Language problems: what does "daggy" mean, not to say (previous post) "rashie"?

    1. Rashie was originally an anti rash shirt for surfers, but now more commonly used as a sun protection layer for swimming. Daggy is an Australian term that shows our history of the country having been sheep farmers. Daggy is the bits that hang onto the fleece. The other meaning as Lynley has used it, is most likely the wearing of old clothes one would wear at home but not down to the local shops. Often half worn out and comfortable. Sandra.

    2. Thank you, Sandra. Interesting! I've looked up to see what we call those daggy bits in Scotland but there doesn't seem to be a word, as far as I can see. Though actually I'm sure there must be. We have a lot of sheep!

  2. Maybe reindeer-at-the-beach, after they've got rid of all the Christmas trimmings (including their antlers, lol)?
